PHP 8.0 is a major update of the PHP language

Many WordPress websites use PHP 7.4, or an older version. Security support for PHP 7.4 is ending on November 28, 2022. This is pretty major and could impact numerous websites.

Websites running PHP 7.4 or earlier will gradually become more vulnerable to hackers

Some of the reasons we are upgrading all the websites on our web servers to PHP 8:
– Better security
– Enhanced speed
– New features

This is a safe and secure update. WordPress has been compatible with PHP 8 since WP 5.6 – December 2020
