Frequently asked questions

How much does web design cost for a small business?

A custom WordPress website starts at $995 for a simple 3–5 page site, with most full business websites running between $1,500 and $8,000 depending on the number of pages, functionality, and whether eCommerce is included. Managed hosting starts at $29.95/month. Every project starts with a free consultation and a written proposal — no mystery pricing.

Do you work with businesses outside Washington state?

Yes. Ron the Web Guy designs, hosts, and does SEO for small businesses across all 50 states. The workflow is fully remote — strategy, design, and communication all happen via phone, email, and screen share. Most clients never meet in person regardless of location. If you’re a small business owner anywhere in the US, the process is the same.

How long does it take for SEO to work?

For most small business websites, expect initial ranking improvements in 4–8 weeks and meaningful traffic gains in 90–120 days. Local SEO moves faster than national SEO — competition in a mid-size or small city is less entrenched than in major metro markets. Google Business Profile optimization and local citations can produce visible map pack movement within 30 days when the fundamentals are in place.

Does my business need a WordPress website?

WordPress is the right choice for most small businesses. It has the deepest SEO plugin ecosystem available — over 60,000 free plugins in the official WordPress.org directory alone (WordPress.org, 2026) — and keeps your content and data under your control, not locked inside a Wix or Squarespace subscription you cannot export. The main exception is businesses that need enterprise-scale eCommerce, where WooCommerce or Shopify may be more appropriate. A free consultation will tell you which platform fits your business.
